Bruce Bohnstengel Jazz Quartet
About Me:
Now Based in Plano, TX, saxophonist Bruce Bohnstengel attended the University of North Texas as a teaching fellow and played with the world renowned One O’ Clock Lab Band while directing the 3 O’ Clock Lab Band. While at UNT he played along side many jazz legends including Louis Bellson, Marvin Stam, Michael Brecker, and Billy Hart. You may have heard him on many of Dallas Jazz Orchestra recordings or possibly with the great Lou Rawls or even in performance as saxman for Tony Horowitz (trumpeter for Ray Charles).
The new Bruce Bohnstengel Jazz Quartet brings the art of the small ensemble into a new direction exploring an extremely broad and creative range. Bruce states, “The musical communication of the group is where the magic lies after all, music is it’s own language!”
